About us
NPDL offers liner shipping and supply chain services to and from 16 countries and 22 ports in the south pacific, including Fiji (Suva and Lautoka), Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga (Nuku’alofa and Vava’u), Tahiti, the Cook Islands (Rarotonga & Aitutaki), Norfolk, Kiribati (Tarawa and Kiribati), Tuvalu, Wallis & Futuna, Solomon Islands and Majuro. We provide weekly services between Asia and the Pacific Island with cargo relaying through New Zealand. NPDL was formed in 2020, when Neptune Pacific Line acquired Pacific Direct Line (PDL), bringing together two of the South Pacific’s top shipping and logistics companies to support the full supply chain of our customers in the region.
The combination of Neptune and PDL creates a broad suite of supply chain services to customers, expanding on our legacies of being at the cutting edge of maritime transport technology and to provide more comprehensive logistics options at sea, on land, and in the air.
Our operations include shipping, shipping agencies, cruise agencies, stevedoring (port operations), transport and customs clearance, container repair, container sales, container depot operations, fumigation, airfreight, fuel brokerage, warehousing, and waste removal. We are constantly developing additional businesses to promote vertical integration across the supply chain.
We have a dedicated fleet of vessels, operating the most extensive shipping network in the South Pacific, supported by onshore logistics assets and dedicated agency staff.
Our History
Founded in 1997, Neptune Pacific Line became part of The Wonderful Company—one of the largest and most philanthropic privately held companies in the United States in 2007. The Wonderful Company is a USD $6 billion global company committed to providing high-quality, healthy brands and helping improve the lives of the people who live and work in the places where it operates. Its iconic brands include FIJI Water, POM Wonderful, Wonderful Pistachios, Wonderful Halos, Wonderful Seedless Lemons, Teleflora, and JUSTIN and Landmark wines. Headquartered in Los Angeles, with major operations in California’s Central Valley and Fiji, its 10,000-person workforce is deeply passionate about building a better world.
In 2014, Neptune Pacific Line acquired 50% controlling interest in Pacific Forum Line, which was a joint venture with the Samoan government and Polynesian Shipping Line designed to extend its shipping network. Then in 2020, Neptune Pacific Line acquired its largest regional competitor, Pacific Direct Line, and became an end-to-end logistics solution provider to support the full supply chain of customers throughout the South Pacific. When Neptune Pacific Line and Pacific Direct Line became NPDL in 2021, it brought together two of the South Pacific’s top shipping and logistics companies, building on NPDL’s broader growth and expansion strategy.
